This modest little statement is what I call arrogant.

No, it's called capitalism. The best engineers flock to the companies that give them the best opportunities, and stock options are a large part of this. This is particularly important these days, given the small supply of engineers relative to the demand for work. If you do not understand this, then you probably shouldn't be investing in high tech stocks.

The point of stock options is to reward the employees for increasing the shareholders value.
What incentive do you employees have if the you are going to be rewarded just the same for a
lousey performance.


The rewards will only come if the stock goes up. Without repricing, a large number of NSCP employees would be getting stock options over the next four years that would be worthless until the stock goes over 50.

Another point I want to make is that repricing is a pretty commonly excepted practice, and several companies have done it fairly recently.
