The main issue of the whole campaign was twofold: 1. inflation, which primarily affected the working class. 2. Loose open border policies, which resulted in a whole host of criminals, terrorists and undesirables entering this country, resulting in chants of death to USA and Jews.

If Brenda got elected, there would be no more USA left. What you are seeing in the UK, France, Sweeden and most of Europe would have come here under Brenda's leadership.

Now I know you will likely disagree with the above assessment - and that is fine - but when it comes to Presidential elections and lots of other things in life, perception is reality.

Brenda campaigned as a radical liberal and had to back off from that point of view, but the damage was already done and her true colors revealed.

One can argue and defend Brenda all you like and viciously attack Trump, but the electorate did not see these foreign chants of death to USA and Jews under the Trump administration on USA soil on a regular basis during his first term.

That was the key factor. Many Dems ignored or did not care about what mattered most to the majority of Americans.

Do I think Trump is doing a good job so far? In some ways, yes, in other ways, no.

Brenda lost the election because she lost the independent and moderate vote. She lost all swing states for good reason.

If the election was held today, I think she would lose again.

PS There is a tendency amongst highly educated people to over- think and over- analyze the results of elections and it's aftermath. But it is not all that complicated for most Americans.
