Steve, I think Larson's hero may be Charles Wang (CEO of CA). Larson's strategy is quite clear (and very similar to Wang's). Swallow up small niche players in the Windows NT security area (Wang was swallowing struggling companies in the Unix space) and then come out with an integrated suite of products aimed at that market place. The advantage of that approach is crystal clear: instant cross-selling.

So, my answer is yes, he knows what he's doing. The question I have is: can he pull it off before the big players wake up? Remember, Cisco just made a strategic acquisition in this area. One final thought: even if the big boys get involved, NETA could still thrive because of it's small size and focus.

Regards,

Paul
