All of it is nothing more than gimmicks...

The more gimmicks a car has the more likely something will break or not work...

mine has a button to turn it off -- I remember MOST of the time to push on start-up

I'd be happy if like any option I can select the default - not have it reset every time I turn off the engine.

Couple downsides - pushing the button every start is beginning to wear the paint off the button - looks like an older car now.

Obviously it puts extra wear on the starter which aren't cheap for new cars.

Scares the hell out of me at an intersection when I stomp on the peddle and nothing happens when I was expecting fast acceleration to get into the intersection or out of the way of someone else.

Of course an after market device exists, but you have to take the center console apart to install and you risk snapping some plastic bits.
