Chuca, <<Minus 43% in 12 Months>> That's great if you're not in it, but imagine when it turns. 50% down is 100% up if it get back to where it was. IMO now is not the time to be in gold mutual funds as you discovered. That day is coming and I believe it may be soon. You can get an internet prospectus for some of the "interesting" gold mutual funds by clicking on the fund name of the Goldsheet list. I am leaning towards American Century (Global Gold Fund - BGEIX) because it is engineered to match a gold index (FT-SE Gold Mines Index). That way one can play gold while minimizing individual gold stock risk (i.e. governments, strikes, disaster). Anybody know another fund that matches a precious metal index?
