ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is a software system (SAP, BAAN, ORCL) that provides a seamless database of all data (pruchasing, shipping, revenues, sales, etc.) integrating various business segments of a company in various different geographical areas. In a nutshell, the CEO can see the balance sheet, when he wants, at his terminal. Implementation takes years since business segments usually have to change their procedures and organization structure to comply with the software reorganization. Does it help? A recent development is Supply Side Management. Some software companies have their product in the market. Ram
