I do not remember what month dad and I travelled to Virginia though it was during hurricane season as the night our plane arrived in Richmond was just after a category 1 hurricane had been downgraded and it was still raining hard so it could have been June, the weather was good the next day. From Richmond each day we would visit a different place and we visited Yorktown, another place where I have only a vague memory of a building, Hampton Roads Naval Museum in Norfolk where on a harbour tour we saw many crafts, and the Smithsonian in Washington D.C. I have never seen as many police cars as when we were driving through the city of Norfolk, I don't know how many there were but there were enough that that is what I remember about the city of Norfolk. A picture of a cup I still have at home.
