Mercy me! MRCY (Mercury Computer Systems) breaking out today on HUGE volume. Not much chart history to draw any firm TA conclusions from (IPO on 1/30/98). Up 22% today. Pru and Cowen initiate coverage w/ buy and strong buy. About 8 1/2 bucks a share in sales (PSR 1.2), 3 bucks a share in cash. Company designs and manufactures digital image processing solutions for numerous applications (see:
mc.com ),
and is branching into other areas. Too little history to take a large position in, but may be worth a small speculative nibble. Certainly couldn't be accused of being overvalued at TRAILING PE=15 as of yesterday. For the most recent reported quarter, revs up 46%, earnings up 77%. That's a nice PEG, even after today's move.

Did a little more fishin' today: COGIF
cognicase.ca
Nice numbers, excellent industry group to fish from, but mainly I liked the flag in the chart. Very constructive, tight pattern in the flag with very nice correlation to the volume. The pole had a very nice upward thrust progression, and the volume acted almost perfectly.
Rainier, remember MFAC when it had similar technicals (and also fundamentals to back it up)? Remember what happened? I especially like stocks where their movements correlate so well to volume. Most stocks go thru such a phase, but it doesn't last forever.
