Good article -- IBM is not to be taken lightly in the research department.

They (IBM, et al) have had flash cards on the market for a number of years (4 or 5). This is the first time I've read anything about them thinking about using a "real" drive for cameras &c. I'm no expert on mechanics, but they've got a job ahead of them to make small drives rugged enough mechanically, thermally, etc. to make them feasible to sell in big numbers to consumers and know that they won't be replacing half of them in six months.

IOmega has been talking about releasing that Clik/n-Hand disk for about two years now. That might be a clue.
