Seems a lot of people got to live longer and without infirmity. But then that's not important enough to pay taxes for. Right?
That is a product of many factors, most importantly (by a wide margin) is the shifting of costs from the aged and the poor to

A) Hospitals and health care providers, who then shift costs to employer plans,

B) Massively higher drug prices than found in other nations for the same medications, and

C) Rate payers who are willing to pay thousands of dollars per month for insurance out of pocket do other people can have the same care for free.

There is no free lunch going on here. Those are all in other countries.
