I was right. Water is wet. Some things are predicable. The only things unpredictable is the exact timing and sequence of events. Is this the equivalent of the Reichstag fire? No idea. It could be. Or, well TACO. It was pointed out on Quora that Trump likes to float trial balloons. If they flop badly, they usually vanish without a trace. If there seems to be some support but still not a win, he doubles down. If that doesn't work, then TACO. A problem is, I don't see a viable offramp. Or even an unviable but plausible one. What is he going to do? "Whoopsie, that didn't work as planned!". If people die, that won't work. Neither will "mistakes were made, lessons were learned. We fired the copy boy". So he pretty much has to go for the whole enchilada. No TACOs.
