LAPD officially called them peaceful protesters. One day later they were smashing the windows of LAPD headquarters.

The LA riots were organized by CHIRLA (Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights).

CHIRLA’s landlord is the city of Los Angeles (thanks to Mayor Karen Bass) and they’re getting FREE RENT and apparently not reporting it to the IRS as an in-kind contribution.

In October 2022, CHIRLA began a 25-year lease on 2,255 square feet of office space, granted by the City of Los Angeles for free, amounting to a significant taxpayer subsidy to the organization.

The City of Los Angeles estimated the market value of this donation as $3,518 per month or $42,214 annually, though this does not appear to take into account the potential increase in future value through the year 2047.

It was not reported as a donation on the organization’s forms filed with the IRS, nor was it mentioned in the financial audit.
