Sorry, but that term is appropriate - and I wasn't the first to use it.

As a technical guy, you know that kludges can be quite satisfactory for getting the job done.

Covington appears to be just that - a "quick & dirty" vehicle for getting a Slot 1 device into the low cost PC market while Intel is working on a better technical solution - Mendocino.

As for your debugging efforts, Covington should prove quite adequate.

Gordon Moore used to have a clever saying - "Not everything worth doing is worth doing well".

I think Covington is such an example.
