MOT will be using Alcatel cellular switches, like DSC makes, initially for the French market, a fact that caused DSC's price to drop last year. Alcatel may still be developing their switch that does the same as the EMX2500. Their GSM switch is different. Re-Celcore, that is a switch aimed at very small markets, while MOT traditionally focused on much larger systems, so I do not see any near term benefits from MOT in relation to DSC's GSM products.
In any case, one issue of concern is what is going to happen to rev recognition. Will DSC and MOT have to give money back due to failure of the system? That could result in a big charge next Q. I have no idea what was in the contract, but that may be an additional area of concern.
I would not buy here. This may only be the first shoe to drop.Do not try to catch a falling knife.
