It's way too late to prevent it, but stopping further temperature increases is as simple as throwing the switch, as long as it's connected to a source of renewable electricity, whether it's the grid or the battery of an EV. What's not so simple is overcoming the well-entrenched opposition of sociopaths like you, especially the ones who sell fossil fuels for a living.
