Style, re:<<It's time for a sharp CEO type to take the helm. Perhaps the likes of CFO Ashby...I like the changes he's implemented, thus far.>> Gee, I wonder who was "sharp" enough to bring on Ashby? Could it have been Mory? Keep in mind a good CFO doesn't always make a good CEO, either.
regards,
greg

Style, We're agreeing way too much these days.

As for the comment by Greg H20... Greg a great CEO would have brought in a guy like Ashby before problems arose...not after. It's true that great leaders surround themselves with great people, but at some point great companies need great leaders. That is, it's not enough to simply have great people.... you need visionaries at the helm - especially in the high-tech world. Look at the leaders in the industry. MSFT/Gates, Intel/Grove, Cisco/Chambers, Sun/McNeely, 3Com/Benhamou, Ellison/Oracle, House/Bay, Ebbers/WorldCom,..even Newbridges Matthews is better respected...

Check his bio. He has been a CEO before. As a former CFO, I like that. But a retired stock broker that came with me to the Robbie Stephens conference said "neither of those two guys belongs running a road show for a growth company. Because neither of them are like John Chambers."

Huh, hype is right to this ex-wallstreeter. I like quiet delivery of results. Particularly if they in the very long run are better than CSCO's.
