richnorth; If you have a lot of silver you can either sell it off at $1 per ounce or mine it yourself and make even more. many of the aspects of mining that Barrick already a master of will carry over to silver production. With gold in the doldrums it seem reasonable for barrick to have more than one arrow in it's quiver. Gold might return, and it might not. Silver has stayed around $5-7 for many years and that can be banked on to stay level for as many years again. the Asian demand will grow as phot silver declines leaving a fairly level plateau for silver for the future. I see the chance for silver to climb to $10 or more if Asia settles down(especially India)
Too high a price will mobilize silver from India, as the Hunts discovered.
