Clearly, Israel would end the war if all of Iran's nuclear facilities were destroyed or severely damaged. Regime change is only a means to an end to getting a much more friendly Iranian administration in power where there would be no threat of nuclear attack.

Regime change is preferable because it would likely bring longer term stability. The younger generation of Iranians are very anti clerical regime because they do not go for the social restrictions, which includes covering themselves up.

Trump's statement that he knows where Khameini is located, but is not going to kill him yet is pretty stupid on the surface, but really reveals that he has no idea where the Ayatollah is hiding and is hoping the Iranians take thet bait and try to move him and then caught in the process.

The key to regime change is to get the Mullahs and Military to turn against the clerical regime. Killing the Ayatollah won't necessarily accomplish that since he has a son or someone else who can replace him.

The longer this war goes on , the greater the chance the clerical regime gets overthrown as much of Iran will turn into dust and ashes. I am not sure how long Israel will fight here, but history shows it will be a long time till they achieve the desired result.

Trump is in a big dilemma and it is not hard to figure why. He would like to go on the attack against Iran, but fears retaliation against US bases in the region. The more ambivalent Trump comes across, the weaker he will appear to many if he sits back. True, USA is helping Israel intercept missiles, but even doing that could cause a missile attack on a US base or facility in the Middle East.

Now that the Ayatollah has called Trump's bluff, let's see what Trump does. We know he is getting lots of pressure from Netanyahu to attack Iran with the B2 bombers.
