Micronetics Wireless Ships First Dual-Band Carrier-to-Noise Generator to Korea

HUDSON, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 11, 1998--Micronetics Wireless Inc., (Nasdaq: NOIZ) announced today that it has shipped its first dual band CNG-100 Carrier-to-Noise Generator designed to support the Groupe Speciale Mobile (GSM) standard for digital wireless communication.

The new CNG-100 will be used to perform test routines on dual-mode wireless handsets -- bound for Europe -- during the manufacturing process.

"This is all part of the continuing expansion of our new test equipment line," explains Richard Kalin, Micronetics Wireless President. "With the introduction of this new product, we're moving into the enormous, and growing, market for testing GSM systems and equipment throughout the world."

The CNG-100 is designed to test the integrity of wireless communication signals by adding noise during the bit-error-rate test sequence. The company's new dual-band model will give equipment manufacturers the ability to switch back and forth between the GSM-900 and DCS-1800 standards during testing.

"Most of today's wireless handsets are dual-mode," Kalin continues. "Our new dual-band CNG will help manufacturers simplify the testing process."
