I stepped up at 24.50 ... it feels like catching a falling knife, but it looks like a real overreaction to Intel announcement ... time will tell!

To all:

I have a serious fundamental Analysis question for you. When I first bought in to MRV 6 quarters ago, They had announced (I think I remember correctly) that none of their OEM partners accounted for more than 10% of sales. Does anyone else remember this? is it still true?

MRV has just told us in their report that total revenue for 1997 was $165 million. If the above still holds true, this limits sales to Intel to $16.5 million for the past year (10% of $165 million). Intel just mentioned in today's press release that networking sales were estimated at $500 million. This would mean that OEM to Intel makes up, at most, only 3.3% of Intel's networking products.

My question is this, are we reading too much into the Intel connection? Just because Intel comes out with new products, does that mean we have to jump up and down about it?

all opinions appreciated.

Josh
