I bought some MMM around $88 before the SLVM (??) divestiture, so it's doing well. Today I wonder if it's a good one to hold onto as they seem to have minimal growth, but I really don't know the story.
For me it's a bit hard to take profits and pay the Cap Gain tax unless I got a really good need for the cash. MMM is very unlike most of my stock picks (which are either insane micro caps or go go tech stocks), so I'll hold onto it and watch. But....I have little idea what moves the share price up or down. They could easily report 1% annual sales growth an 1% EPS growth, and the stock pops 10%. Or the other way. Whatever, seems good to own a few boring old school necessary big companies, even if I don't have any strong view on whether they're good investments or not.

That it has gone up while I've owned it tends to color my opinion (MMM is great!).

Bad news on stocks w/ potential litigation but may/could be a great Value Buy entry?

I have been adding to Edison International (EIX) 50.59 -0.22 (-0.43%)

at/below $50/share

6.4% div but they have exposure to CA fire litigation.

Similar to Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PCG) & Hawaiian Electric Industries (HE) . I chose EIX as it seems to be the best of this group.

------------------------------------------------------

FWIW I continnue to make small adds to Portland General Electric Company (POR).

Am trying to build my utility basket as this sector s/d do OK if we enter a period of Stagflation.

Also looking at NG utilities and/or NG Oil/NG exploration and/or LNG export facilities.

Sempra (SRE) is one I made a small add to now 2.8% of my portfolio (ranked #9 in the portfolio); 99% of my shares bought in 1998 at $14/share. SRE expanding into TX w/ a $10 Billiuon multi year capital investment and also operate LNG export facilities. Made a small Buy 6/17/2025 at $73.35 and would like to add more; div 4.2% so not that bad.
