Demosthenes] What strikes me about Trump is the entire government doesn’t ever do anything to make things better. They harass universities to force them to suppress dissent and end policies they don’t like that are fully lawful. They raise prices with import taxes. They bully lawyers, immigrants, and foreign countries, and never use any soft power or appeals to decency. Trump and his cronies are so jaw droppingly corrupt it boggles the mind with crypto coins slush funds and money for pardons. They oppose vaccination, which has raised living standards and made life better. The tax bill subsidizes coal — yes, coal — and not affirmatively discourages renewable energy. That same bill would strip over 15 million of health care and cut back on food aid for the poor, all in exchange for tax cuts on the rich and corporations. The bill also spends billions on Trump’s utterly useless and stupid wall, and doubles — or does it triple? — on the ICE Gestapo and building concentration camps in America and in other countries. Oh, and that bill adds over $3 trillion to the deficit. I’m not even going into the harm to the weather service, air safety, food and water protection, the national parks, and ending most help for national disasters. If the Trump regime were a foreign imposed occupying force, they couldn’t be worse. It’s insane.
