Most of those last sales were very small amounts except for a 3k and 5k block, which could mean there was some stops hit in the last hour. At 1600 a 10k block went off with a double posting at 39 7/8 & 40 (MM making a little slippage, which they are probably entitled to on such a big block).
Now my 60 minute indicators flag me early, so if I enter I realize I'm entering early and probably not catching the bottom. But, the reason I enter early is that there only may be a half dozen trades at the true short term bottom and more often than not my Datek/ISLD order doesn't get hit even though it might be at the best bid.
On more disclaimer, this charting I use is usually only good for trades that have a duration of 2 days.
I'll be caressing the trigger waiting for a clay pigeon in the morning on weakness.

Figures for "# at best" bid/ask today from level II:
Bid>NITE 27, MASH 21
Ask>MASH 45, VOLP 11, NITE 8

I only watched for the last 1 hour because that was the first time the pattern (a combo of %R, acceleration, momentum, and directional movement) caught my attention. Now if the general market cooperates tomorrow this could be a good short term entry point.

Typically "short" guys sell stocks immediately before close to pull down prices.
