I don't know what this guy's problem is (not you but Mo). For example, Merced was conceived as much for an HP desire to kick some Sun and IBM butt, as for Intel to see how many million gates they could get on a chip. Pentium Pro was also designed around spec's that Intel wrote after a substantial industry survey, kind of like a roadmap in reverse. Deschutes...same. I could go on...
