The Pine Martin video was interesting. My take is that it was expecting to be fed, and they eat whatever is going.

We have Red Squirrels in our area, that are native to the UK. Invasive Grey Squirrels have overrun most of the country, apart from a few areas.

Pine Martins are normally reclusive and rarely seen. There is a purpose made "Red Squirrel Feeder" to try and encourage Red Squirrels in the area, and a friend of mine manufactured one and we put it up a week or so ago. A family of Pine Martins regularly raid it, and they seem to be on the lookout for Squirrel Feeders.

Pine Martins do hunt Squirrels but the kill Grey Squirrels at much higher rate then Red Squirrels, and are therefore very good for the Environment as Grey Squirrels harm a lot of our woodlands.
