Trump does a lot of crazy stuff in the name of "National Security". Who or what would prevent him from trying to gain control / take ownership of SpaceX?

It also further highlighted how the government relies on Musk's companies to remain leaders in space exploration, and how little competition there is in the market." This actually could be a healthy development on several fronts: Transparency, national security, and competition in that space (pun intended) for starters. We should expect it to foster improvements in all three.
