Here is the schedule for Robertson Stephens Tech Investment conference: rsco.com. It seems that IDTI will not make any presentations at the conference (or did not get invitation for a presentation).

The CEO of Cypress would appear to be so head strong that he would hardly ever agree to a merger unless he was put in control of the resulting company. The management of IDTI isn't quite that dogmatic but have said publicly that they are not interest in selling the company (but if a company made them "an offer they can't refuse" who knows how strongly they would resist). I think that all this merger talk will probably prove to be just speculation, but then I'm here in Seattle and away from the maddening crowds on Wall Street.

While it might make some sense for a merger between Cypress and IDT, it is highly unlikely. How would IDT really benefit - more memory capacity or more fab capacity. More memory products is not what IDT needs and if they need more fab capacity there is plenty to be had now for a good price and with less fixed costs by outsourcing. Cypress is a bit late getting themselves diversified. And as someone already pointed out, neither TJ nor Len strike me as the kind of executive that would like playing second fiddle to the other. Scratch that rumour.

Idt and Cypress have such different corporate philosophies that it
would be match destined for disaster.
