Patrik, I owned MUEI in the fall and early winter. What a BUMMER! Bought shares after buying their PC's (which are pretty impressive). Stock started going down in the fall from 20 finally to 8. [I used to post on the MUEI thread.]

Inadequate marketing and advertising was a major problem. Then there were repeated disappointments to wall street and over inventory problems have buried them. BOD brought on new President and new Marketing VP; but they're really hurting, IMO.

Now this article talks about more reductions in earnings based on restructuring. "The company also announced it will incur a significant operating loss during the second quarter of fiscal 1998 due in part to the competitiveness in the notebook market segment. While Micron's notebook PCs were very strong sellers and widely acclaimed within the industry, an overly aggressive forecast caused inventory issues. Other factors contributing to the loss include year
over year near-flat revenue, disposition of inventories as well as intense, industry-wide price competition."

It's going to take a long time to get that company turned around and a real long shot for any profits from them this year.... or maybe ever. I made several posts on the MUEI thread that IMHO they have a Board problem.

If you're in MUEI, I'd get out (I did). DELL is a much better place for an investor.
