Look at the usual pattern of Dell when it announces a split and splits:

You'll be fine. 131 will look cheap in a few weeks.

5-10 % pull back...
You never know but I do know that dell has a bad habbit of making its share holders rich..Hypeace says just relax and look at the price next year..Yea..easier said than done but he right and you can take it to the bank..They will pay 140-150 to own Dell..Watch and see..Hell 170 and they bot it like hot cakes.
The shorts will try to scare yo but they get creamed are make a COUPLE of bucks here and there and then they get SQUEEZED and make the stock go higher..
I had to go get a new monitor today..17 "

Susan,
In a year 131 will seem real cheap. In two years your cost basis will be about $33 assuming one more split after the one on March 6. I bet it will be selling well north of 33 by then.

I paid 100 last October just in time to see it drop to the mid seventies. Now I have a 28% profit on those shares. Am proud to say that I never doubted for a minute that Dell would come back strong.

5-10% pullback a possibility, but given the upcoming split, I would think that you won't see it until after the split. There was about $5 in decline right after the July 25, 1997 split.

I think that you've had such a run up to where we are now (not to mention all of this talk about valuations), that the stock will continue to consolidate today and tomorrow. I would expect a slight surge on Friday (2/27/98) back to 130, maybe, and then fractional gains for the first part of next week, followed by $1-3 gains on Thursday and Friday (3/5&6/98). Then two more days of gains on the following Monday & Tuesday, followed by selling on Wednesday & Thursday. So says my crystal ball....

As for 131...you'll be happy you did it by next earnings due in May.
