Pocotrader,
America wants white men only as a POTUS.
Again, that's the wrong takeaway from Trump's 2024 victory.

Although I preferred Harris over Trump, I have to admit that Harris was way in over her head. She only won out in my mind because (a) Trump was blatantly anti-immigration, and (b) Harris showed a slight capacity of being able to learn on the job.

In any case, Harris and the Democrats lost 2024 just as much, if not more, than Trump won it. I complained many times that Harris was the "checkbox" running mate for Brandon back in 2020, and that she often turned out to be completely ineffectual in everything but social justice issues. When she was "Border Czar," she completely dropped the ball and ran away from the problem, even though that was her moment to shine.

Hence, Harris didn't lose because she was a Black woman. Instead, Harris lost because she was the very example of a DEI pick that turned out to be unqualified.

Now we have the Orange Turd picking unqualified candidates not because of their race, their gender, or their sexual preferences, but because they all possess the one capability that Trump desires more than anything else. And that's loyalty.

Most of us thought that the choice between DEI and North Korea was a no-brainer, but MAGA proved that literal "no-brainers" will choose North Korea. Every. Single. Time.

What you're saying is not only factually wrong, it's dangerously defeatist and reinforces exactly the kind of discrimination you're claiming to oppose.

To suggest that “no men of colour or women should ever try to be POTUS again” is absurd and insulting, not just to those individuals, but to the millions of Americans who have voted for diverse candidates and who do want a leader based on merit, vision, and integrity, not race or gender.

Barack Obama was elected twice by broad coalitions across demographics. Kamala Harris, whatever one thinks of her politics, was elected Vice President on a winning ticket. These aren’t flukes, they’re proof of progress.

Reducing the future of American democracy to skin colour and gender gives bigotry more power, not less. It hands victory to the very forces you're condemning. The fight for equality isn’t won by withdrawing from it.

Maybe it’s time for you to stop blaming voters entirely and start focusing on the strength of the candidate, their ideas, their leadership, and their ability to inspire confidence. That’s what wins elections.
