Vodka Medvedev is at it again ...

Former Russian president threatens war against US after Trump's latest ultimatum (Ukrainska Pravda)

All because Trump shortened a 50-day "ultimatum" to "10 or 12 days from now":

Ukraine, Russia respond to Trump's new ceasefire deadline as strikes continue (ABC News)

That means on August 7th, assuming Trump is true to his word (which is NEVER a given), we can expect Trump to impose tariffs on countries trading with RuZZia, especially China and India.

Personally, I think Trump's rhetoric is shifting in the correct direction, but that's matters little since his foreign policy is so erratic and his resolve is non-existent. All China and India have to do is tell Trump to FU, and Trump will back off.

Whether China and India actually do or not depends on a complex calculus of variables.

Let's not forget that both of those nations are also led by authoritarian nationalists who may or may not be better connected to reality compared to Trump or PooTin.
