Hey, Wharfie,

Yup. We're getting a lot of tourists from the U.S. and from Europe.
Many Americans are coming up to flee the chaos for a couple or so weeks
as they are just tired of hearing about the latest disasters.

There are a lot of people checking into moving up here.
Listened to a real estate agent being interviewed a couple of days ago.
He said people are buying places sight unseen except through photos.

Quite a few medical professionals coming up.
They can get work up here easily.
Most of the provincial governments have programs to speed up the process
of getting all the licensing done so that they can work up here almost immediately.

As for Canadians -- most are doing the "staycation" thing.
Never hear of anyone going for a trip over the border.
A lot of people in Quebec and Ontario used to cross on day trips
to fill gas tanks, buy groceries and just poke around in the stores.
Barely anyone doing that anymore.
It will be interesting to see what happens with the snowbirds come winter.
Many have sold homes they owned in FL and AZ
and local snowbirds I know say they won't be going down anymore.

People are sticking to their "buy Canadian" and Elbows Up.
It's helped a lot of Canadian companies become better known
or to get more business.
Read about a company in Montreal that makes cans for canned foods and beverages
going from 1 shift a day to 3 shifts a day to keep up with the demand.
The stores are getting better at sourcing Canadian goods of all kinds
because people just will not buy anything from the U.S.
It's been pretty interesting to see how we are adapting.

Elbows up, indeed! :)
