A friend in Juneau has been talking about the weather there all spring and summer.
I guess it has rained and rained and rained, and also been quite cold.
He's lived there most of his life but thinks this might be the new normal
and he's worn down from it.

Meanwhile, other friends in S.E. Arizona are so worried about the drought conditions.
I guess they've had a bit of rain, but the monsoon season doesn't really happen anymore.

We're having these hot, dry summers which seem so unlike what you would expect
this close to the ocean.
I don't really like heat -- it's getting so that I look forward to autumn.
I have not seen a real "fog" here in several years now.
Used to happen occasionally, or night mists that would burn off in the morning.
Barely ever happens anymore. Had a mist this morning,
but I think that was the first time this summer. Strange.

The times they are a-changing and probably not for the best.

I just mention this in case you ever do need to replace your MacBook.
Over the past few months, I have bought an iMac and a MacBook through BestBuy --
they have a few companies that sell refurbished computers through them.
Both were from "Gainsaver" and they are like brand new computers
with the latest O/S installed.
Packed so carefully and not a blemish on either of them.
Both look like they've never been used.
Price was a fraction of what a new one would have cost...
These that I got were about 2001 models -- so recent but not new.
Definitely a good deal and no brain damage getting them shipped out here.
New costs too much these days, so am happy to have given this a shot.

Rose,

Missing our friend Rob today on his birthday. Here's to Rob, Dusty, and all of our barmates that left us too soon but leave us with lifetime memories and love.

I wish Scott was with us in this picture, but otherwise, this picture is perfect!
