The idiot somehow realized no one had "on shored" any copper mines so far this year and even with a gutted EPA , no one had yet made plans over the next 5 years to build a new copper smelterin the U.S.. DOH!! So he decided to wreck the U.S.downstream copper fabricators instead just causing a total catastrophe throughout the copper industry. TACO time.

One wonders given the massive market swings downside and upside on Trump policy that someone must be making a lot money on this ride.

Ouch! Copper just took a big hit.

It was only the American copper price that cratered; it was stable everywhere else. Trump TACoed yet again -- no import tax is to be paid by Americans on refined copper, only on unrefined.

LC

P.S. I am calling them Import tax paid by Americans rather than tariffs, as in the face of Trump's BS it is more accurate.
