Hmmm, if the weak job numbers are due to the DOGE layoffs, well, then they don't indicate anything about the strength of the economy, right? The economy may have been booming, but BLS jobs numbers were very low because government efficiency programs eliminated fraud and waste.

If this story is true (DOGE Is the cause of weak numbers and revisions) then it's a positive for the economy story, I think.

A bad economy would have weak job numbers because companies aren't hiring, not because the government has increased firing.
