I think RasPutin was betting on a 'little green men in Crimea' situation when he invaded Ukraine. Remember all the long lines of military equipment stuck on roads north of Kyiv? I recall reading about the battles around Hostomel when Russia was trying to parachute Special Forces in to decapitate the Zelensky government. When that all went down the drain due to the heroic Ukrainian resistance, Putin ended up in deep shit. As you say, he now has had to turn Russia upside down with a war economy, interest rates are around 20%, and he has lost lucrative markets in the West. On Sundays I continue to see Ukrainian soldiers thanking our Parish for bringing them over for treatment here, so I fervently hope he pays an even steeper price for what he has done. John
