NetVantage Announces First Order for New NV9224 Fast Ethernet
Switch

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 25, 1998--NetVantage Inc. (Nasdaq:NETVA - news) Wednesday
announced that it has received the first order for its new NV9200 family of 10/100/1000 Mbps workgroup switches.

The order for the 24 port 10/100 Mbps NV9224 model comes from an existing NetVantage OEM customer.

''This order represents yet another milestone in our development of best-in-class Ethernet workgroup switches,'' said
Stephen R. Rizzone, NetVantage's president and chief executive officer. ''The product has performed strongly during
evaluation with potential customers. OEM market enthusiasm for the switches has been very positive and we expect
additional orders from customers.''

The NV9200 family of products fill a high-opportunity market niche. The switches, powered by the NetVantage-developed
Cyclone switch ASIC, are targeted for use in high-end desktop, workgroup and local backbone applications.

They support combinations of up to 24 autosensing 10/100Base-T ports and two Gigabit Ethernet ports. Future support for
ATM OC-3 and OC-12 uplinks is built in. Total switching capacity is in excess of 6.5 million packets per second.

The NV9200 family has been designed to address the increased demand for Fast Ethernet switching in today's corporate
networks, stemming from the rapid growth and popularity of the Internet and of corporate intranets, as well as new,
high-bandwidth applications to the desktop.

The NV9200's high level of performance, along with its flexible, scaleable architecture, allows the product to meet the
requirements of these new applications.

NetVantage is the leading OEM supplier of workgroup and desktop Ethernet switches. The company develops, manufactures
and markets high quality, technologically advanced Ethernet workgroup switching systems designed to increase the
information handling capacity of local area networks.

NetVantage provides its customers with highly reliable, cost effective and full-featured switching solutions to complement its
networking product lines.
