Brief: 3Com led the group lower in response to Intel's
increased focus on the networking industry - particularly the
consumer end of the market... Ascend (-1 1/16) also felt the
pinch... JP Morgan reiterated its buy on Cisco... Legg Mason
reiterated its buy on Vanstar, which is due to report earnings
later this week... Xircom added 1 3/16 on Intel news given
that INTC owns 20% stake in XIRC... As we noted on these
pages last week, Intel may simply decided to gobble up rest
of XIRC... XIRC also responded to news that Raymond
James reiterated its buy rating.
