Pravin,

There just aren't any socket 7 CPUs to put in the 100 Mhz boards.

That's not correct. From what I have read and listened to street talks, P54C, P55C, IMPP (Intel Mobile Processor), K6, K6-3D as well as M2 have no problems to run on 100Mhz bus speed.

The real problem on either 100Mhz bus speed socket 7 or SLOT1 is the RAM. These 100Mhz bus speed system should be considered "high-end". However, VIA has figured out how to deal with the slow RAM currently sitting in users' system and deal warehouse. The VIA MVP3 has a unique option which allows the users to select either 66Mhz or 100Mhz RAM speed in case if they don't have quality RAM. I have posted a benchmark of AMD K6-3D 300Mhz with the timing of 66Mhz and 100Mhz RAM.

My guess that Intel hasn't developed such an innovation on their BX chipset, has they?
