Thanks Anchan, interesting link, good read. Hard to forget Serra Pelada, even if only for the images of the army of artisnals crawling up and down the pit walls!!! And the incredible grades, all went up in smoke.

I too lost some money on Colossus.

If you want to see what is going on at the mine site these days, in the latest season of Gold Rush: Parker's Trail, there is an episode where he and the gang visit the mine site to see if it is worth investing in the remnants. (Conclusion -- no because two groups are fighting over ownership.)
