US strong-arms TSMC to save Intel

Come on. A much better solution is........

Split Intel into two companies - semi fabrication and chip design.

Make QCOM buy the design company.

Put tariffs on imported semiconductors such that the formerly Intel fabs (without tariffs) are in demand.

Way better than selling Intel to TSMC.

The Trump administration is trying to force Taiwanese chip giant TSMC to buy nearly half of Troubled Chipzilla to secure a break on trade tariffs.
Just what INTC or any company needs, an investor that does not wish to be one, would prefer to have its capital elsewhere. Me thinks such "investment" is highly likely to lead to trouble down the road.
