In reality, the American importer is sending the check, and passing the cost on to consumers and/or the owners, in the form of higher costs of business. When you put it that way, it sounds bad. If you were to be honest with people, they wouldn't do what has been determined as best for them. Think of it as a spoonful of sugar helping the medicine go down... Like in Mary Poppins.
