I think we're in for an earnings surprise.

You make some good points, Brendan. I think the analysts are like the generals fighting the last war. They all got burned 4Q97 so they've adjusted down to protect themselves.

Just how do you factor in a $100 mil ad campaign? There must be some pretty big assumptions made as to it's cost effectiveness. They could easily be grossly wrong. What if the $15 mil committed for this quarter is dwarfed by profits from pent up Jazz demand, strong Buzz sales, zips flying off the shelves, and better than expected tie ratios?

Have we seen any credible evidence that this is not happening?

Les

Hi Niggerochi! only .14 to .15 for this Q? that's all? I thing must be more than .15, last year IOM made around 105M net income and KE staff's forecast to spend 100M ad this year. You thing they are don't know how to do business ? dead wrong ,i thing they must have on there hand a ton of backlog and very strong order for this year. For IOM rev 1998 are 2.8B net income: 389M .
