Karoline "Hot Lips" Leavitt claimed that the National Guardsmen in D.C. already arrested 23 people:

National guard begins deploying on DC streets after Trump police takeover (The Guardian)

Press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters on Tuesday: “As part of the president’s massive law enforcement surge, last night approximately 850 officers and agents were surged across the city. They made a total of 23 arrests, including multiple other contacts.”

The arrests consisted of homicide, firearms offences, possession with intent to distribute narcotics, fare evasion, lewd acts and stalking, Leavitt added. “A total of six illegal handguns were seized off of District of Columbia’s streets as part of last night’s effort.”

*******

I have my doubts, of course.

1) Hot Lips has a habit of lying in order to satisfy the fat orange narcissist. I'd rather wait for confirmation before believing that the national guardsmen made a material impact on D.C. law enforcement.

2) Many of the guardmen, if not most, are concentrated around the touristy-center of the city where all of the important monuments are, such as the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, and of course the nation's Capitol. The problem is that these areas are ALREADY well-protected by police. Hardly any crime happens here.

3) If the Trump regime really wants to pick the "low-hanging fruit," they would focus on the southeast D.C. area. But the so-called "optics" of militarized police fighting against African-American residents would look terrible, so I doubt the TACO Supreme Commander would want that.
