I do not own a tesla but I do see lots of comments and video that suggest to me FSD is doing fine; after watching the train wreck in Austin for WayMo a couple weeks ago, it is clear to me that FSD is doing fine, competitively. In addition, a new release is coming out shortly which will undoubtedly continue to show substantial progress.

I think this is a horse race and maybe I'm wrong but it certainly appears that Tesla is pretty far ahead right now. We'll see.

I would also mention that over the years, I've owned hundreds of tech stocks in companies whose products I never owned. But as a person who is well-educated in business and software as well as other technology, I tend to stay on familiar roads.

The deal-breaker for me is the inability to rely on vision. If you can't do that, driving is going to be challenged. Not saying the LiDAR can't help, but the time/money spent AT THIS TIME needs to be able to deliver on vision, delivered real time, or the system is going to be inadequate. 20 years from now, that may be different.

Keep in mind we are still a few years away from cost-effective LiDAR based systems.
