# The Real Reason Tesla Is Taking a Different Path Than Uber – Understanding the Hidden Strategy… 7 hours ago
This article, I found weird.

When I look at Uber what I see is --

- Limited lifespan that will ultimately be competing with companies who own the technology after going through major changes including massive new, novel, well-known competitors;
- 10 Billion + in intangible assets
- Relatively little net tangible assets

- Most real value appears to be in an intangible brand that will require a lot of capital to start over.

- $30B in liabilities, many of which are short-term.

I just don't know if they're going to be able to win this, and the potential for a big loss is high.

The only way they can compete with Tesla/Way-Mo is by joining them.

So, they're going to be highest cost operation if they can't change to newer tech; and they're going to be systemically unable to turn a profit unless they acquire vehicles.

I'm known for being notoriously wrong on predicting stuff but it seems like they're starting today with one hand tied behind their backs.
