Bonefish,
Hey, what's this Intel money injection? Backing a loser?
You mean Softbank, the owners of Arm and the rich-ass idiots who backed WeWork?

Personally I think Softbank is a curse, but I'm not going to recommend to anyone that they sell anything Softbank invests in. (Or maybe I should, because the moment I do that, Softbank's investments will rocket to the moon.)

As for investing in Intel, Softbank obviously sees an undervalued investment. Intel's share price is bouncing back and forth around its book value, which makes it an interesting takeover target.

Moreover, Intel is now "too big to fail." Trump will pull out all the stops to ensure that Intel survives and continues investing in American fabs.

By the way, I see a lot of similarities between Softbank CEO Masayoshi Son (who, BTW, is Korean-Japanese) and Trump, at least when it comes to their investment strategies. They both liked to go big, they both had a flair for inflating values way beyond reason, and they both failed in industries that were supposedly hard to fail in (Trump's casinos, Son's Vision Fund).

Given these similarities, I fully expect Mr. Son to pay a visit to the White House and ensure that Intel gets special treatment.
