I guess you can't believe the climate forecasters.

You are confusing climate and weather. Climate forecasters do not concern themselves with individual weather events.

More importantly, you need to expect this year's severe weather event forecasting out of the US to be very sub-par. As has been well covered, DOGE fired 500 forecasters from the NWS, then realized they had made a huge error and are trying to hire 450 forecasters to replace them, so far without success.

If there is any year to stay away from the Gulf of Mexico and Tornado Alley, it is 2025. Without the services formerly supplied by NOAA and the NWS, forecasts and warnings are much more likely to be inadequate and incorrect.
