Supply is increasing, sales volume is still slow. Why is inventory rising if sellers are sitting on sub 4% mortgages and have no need to sell? By this winter the inventory should swing past 6 months and tip the market into a buyers' market.
A sub 4% mortgage is a asset, when rates are around 6.5% to 7%. To get a decline in price you need distressed sellers. You won't get distressed sellers unless unemployment gets above 6%. And maybe not even then.

The inventory is not distressed.

I flipped house for years, I know how this works.
