Gary,

Please ginore Sowbug as I believe he was having an out of body experiement when making those comments. From his profile he seems to be a software engineer who graduated from a law school! No wonder why the number 1 concern with every software program is having so many bugs!

Regards,

Addi Jamshidi

Gary, I don't know if you or the rest of the ASND thread has followed what happened to my MRVC today.

Last night they reported $0.25, a penny OVER estimates and the 32nd consecutive record quarter. Earnings were up 93% and revenues up 87%. Since the company has only had 32 quarters of life, this is an impressive record, indeed.

In addition, they stated in the CC that they were "positioned for a healthy sequential increase" again in Q1.

However, both inventories and accounts receivable were higher than last year. The company explained that the main reason for the increase was that they wanted to storten their customer delivery cycles from 3-6 weeks to a few days and INTENTIONALLY built up their inventory. Also they had the entire initial build of a new switch product on hand, which only began shipping very late in the quarter. The third reason was a decline in OEM sales, mainly to NN who has hit on hard times and DEC who sold their networking division to CS.

The accounts receivable is a normal consequence of selling mainly to Europe, which has 180 day lead times. [sell product in Q3, get paid in Q1]. Receivables were higher because they have been selling A LOT recently.

For this the street trashed them, taking them down $5 to $23 and change.

After the market closed, the CFO issued a statement, and in it he indicated comfort with street estimates of $1.24 for all of 1998.

So here we have a situation almost exactly like ASND in December or early January. The stock is at $23, with a guarantee for Q1 and for $1.24 for all of 1998. Knowing MRVC this will be something like
$0.27, $.30, $.32, $0.35 = $1.24.

So anyone wanting to take a look at an absolute shoo-in in 1998, look here.
